Sandwich Panel

High-efficiency insulated roof & wall cladding systems engineered for extreme thermal control, fire containment, and rapid assembly.

Pioneering Insulation Technology

Engineered Building Envelopes for Demanding Industrial Climates

Joint Star Steel manufactures continuous automated sandwich panels that combine high-tensile coated steel skins with high-density thermal cores. Designed to mitigate thermal bridging, protect interior environments, and drastically cut operational energy expenses.

Our sandwich panels serve as prefabricated composite building elements widely utilized across building envelopes, partition walls, and clean ceilings. Composed of two exterior metal facings continuously bonded to a rigid core—mineral wool, polyurethane (PU/PIR), or expanded polystyrene (EPS)—they deliver verified structural integrity, airtight hermetic interlocks, and low heat transmittance.

From industrial sheds and poultry control facilities to pharmaceutical cleanrooms and sub-zero cold chains, our manufacturing facilities adhere to strict dimensional tolerances and coating standards, ensuring dependable field assembly across regional and international project sites.

PU Polyurethane Insulated Sandwich Panel Maximum Thermal R-Value

PU / PIR Sandwich Panel

Formulated with rigid polyurethane foam featuring over 95% closed-cell structure. Offers the lowest thermal conductivity available, achieving superior temperature stability in cold storage and food processing facilities.

  • Standard Density: 38 – 42 kg/m³
  • Thermal Conductivity: 0.020 – 0.024 W/m·K
  • Primary Uses: Cold rooms, cleanrooms, food factories
  • Advantage: Zero thermal bridging, airtight joints
Rock Wool Mineral Fiber Fireproof Sandwich Panel Non-Combustible Fireproof

Rock Wool Sandwich Panel

Constructed with high-density basalt mineral fiber bonded perpendicular to steel faces. Delivers Class A1 non-combustible fire protection, 1 to 4 hour fire ratings, and exceptional acoustic sound absorption for demanding industrial plants.

  • Standard Density: 80 – 120 kg/m³
  • Thermal Conductivity: 0.040 W/m·K
  • Primary Uses: Firewalls, power plants, chemical storage
  • Advantage: A1 Fire Rating, acoustic isolation

Frequently Asked Questions

Key information for commercial contractors, overseas buyers, and mechanical engineers selecting sandwich panel assemblies.

What core material should I choose: EPS, PU/PIR, or Rock Wool?

Polyurethane (PU/PIR) is best when thermal efficiency and vapor tightness are the primary objectives, particularly in cold storages (-40°C to +10°C), cleanrooms, and food processing lines. Rock Wool is required when Class A1 non-combustible fire protection or high acoustic damping is mandated. EPS is the optimal economical choice for general warehousing, modular site offices, and partition walls.

What panel thickness is recommended for cold storage facilities?

For chilled storage (+0°C to +8°C), 75mm to 100mm PU panels are standard. For deep-freeze environments (-18°C to -25°C), 120mm to 150mm PU panels are specified. For blast freezers (-30°C to -40°C), 150mm to 200mm panels with cam-lock interlocks and double-groove vapor seals are required.

Can Joint Star Steel customize skin thickness, coatings, and profiling?

Yes. We offer pre-painted galvanized steel (PPGI) and Aluzinc (PPGL) facings ranging from 0.35mm to 0.7mm. Surface treatments include food-safe antibacterial coatings, PVDF for harsh exterior environments, and corrosion-resistant SMP coatings in customized RAL colors.

How are panels packaged for international container shipping?

Each panel is surfaced with peelable protective polyethylene film. Panels are stacked with corner protectors, secured onto EPS foam skids, banded with heavy-duty polyester strapping, and wrapped in moisture-barrier plastic film for secure 20ft or 40ft high-cube sea container shipping.
