Pre-painted galvanized steel sheet (PPGI) uses zinc-coated steel as its substrate, combining the strength of the base metal with the corrosion resistance of the zinc layer.
Before painting, the galvanized steel surface is thoroughly cleaned to remove rust, oil, dust, and other impurities. It then undergoes chemical pretreatment to improve coating adhesion and enhance corrosion resistance. After pretreatment, multiple layers of organic coatings are applied and baked to form a durable, attractive finish.
A typical double-sided, two-coat, two-bake PPGI sheet consists of:
